Lambeth Council - Absence Monitoring
Lambeth Council - Sickness & Absence Monitoring system
Lambeth Council were looking to simplify the way staff sickness was reported to the payroll department, and for the payroll
department to make more readily available the information that they had recorded within their Cyborg Payroll System.
This new system was designed to run upon Lambeth Council's Intranet - allowing managers to record staff absence and to
view various summary reports that were being produced by the Payroll department as web pages. They have standardised
their desktop with the Internet Explorer browser so this was exploited using javascript. It incorporates links
to other Sickness Absence & HR online PDF documents, the HR website, and the boroughs on-line phone directory.
Data extracted from the Cyborg legecy system was parsed and converted into ascii text files in the PICK operating system
style for speed purposes. The end user NT logon is included in the HTTP header so this was exploited to provide
personalised menus and reports. Javascript was exploited by using 'datapicker' and 'drop menu' scripts.
Discrepency reports generated by the 5 Cyborg parser scripts were automatically emailed to the Payroll department using the
Sendmime program.
